Adoption

The gift of life is a gift of love. If you are pregnant and feel like you are not ready to care for a child, you have a unique opportunity to give the gift of life to a couple not able to have a child on their own. The gift of life is a gift of love.

If you are pregnant and feel like you are not ready to care for a child, you have a unique opportunity to give the gift of life to a couple not able to have a child on their own.

What is adoption? Adoption is a legal act of permanently placing a child with parents other than the biological or birth parents. The adoptive parents become legally responsible for the child and the child is entitled to all privileges belonging to a natural child of the adoptive parents.

Most adoption agencies offer a variety of adoptions plans:
• Open Adoption Plan - Continuous contact with the adoptive parents and the child throughout the child’s life.
• Semi-Open Adoption - No contact with the child, but updates and photos from the adoption agency or adoptive family.
• Closed or Confidential Adoption Plan – No contact with the child or adoptive family.

There are so many parents out there who are willing to give your child a loving home. You can be involved in the process of selecting the adoptive family for your child – or you can decide to not be involved at all. It is up to you.

There are plenty of resources available to help you through your pregnancy – including financial assistance, pre- and post-natal health care, a safe place to stay and counseling.

Adoption is an alternative to abortion. Many women who have abortions, later experience terrible mental and physical anguish. (“More about Post Abortion Syndrome”) These women often testify that they wish they would have had more information about adoption options and fetal development.
Adoption is a courageous, selfless act – one both you and your child can live with. You owe it to yourself and your child to look into the possibilities.
